An inspiring and uplifting documentary, Purple Dreams follows six disadvantaged high school students on a powerful journey of transformation. Purple Dreams gives unique access into the lives of these inner-city, at-risk students from Charlotte's Northwest School of the Arts in North Carolina over the course of three years. Talented and driven, the students pursue their passion for musical theatre, triumphantly auditioning, rehearsing, and performing the first ever full-length high school production of Alice Walker's The Color Purple.
